More Pretty Rocks, Different Shapes

If you don’t love pretty rocks, this is not the post or park for you. Sam and Bryson have had quite adventuring and decided to sit this one out. With those warnings out of the way, on to pretty rocks!

The Needles…well a set of them. There are several such formations throughout this section this just happened to be the most viewable set.

The Three Gossips.

Sheep Rock. Surprisingly the closer we got the better the sheep was defined

North and South Window

Double Arch

Delicate Arch
This is the arch you see on Utah plates and all of the tourist promotional stuff. Your options are a 3 mile round trip hike on an exposed ridge line plus some rock scrabbling to physically touch it, a view point from a distance after a half mile 170ft fairly vertical climb up a path with some stairs, or a lower viewpoint a couple of hundred feet from the parking lot. Due to time and being done with type two fun we opted for option two..some hiking for an acceptable view. I had already touched other arches on my 1 mile loop around the north and South Window arches.

Fiery Furnace
These structures form a maze that is only hikeable by permit and/or with a ranger. Looks like fun but alas due to timing was not an available option on this trip.

Marmot Friend
To preserve our “overlanding cred” we exited the park via a lesser known gravel road that connected to BLM land before joining back up with the highway. These little friends had quite the community near Tower Arch. Tower Arch is a lesser known arch that we drove past but not out to because even the rock lady was all rocked out and wanted a hot shower . Sadly these little friends had obviously been fed by humans as they ran right up to the car acting cute then waiting patiently for a treat…which I did not provide.

Prickly Pear- not a rock but still pretty
